With a career spanning executive and non-executive roles in large sector-leading organisations his experience extends beyond education. After a 27 year career at bus operator Go North East, where鈥痟e progressed from a youth trainee to the boardroom as Commercial Director he now enjoys鈥痑鈥痯urposeful portfolio career spanning consultancy, non-executive, chair, trustee, guest lecturer and mentorship roles at various leading regional organisations, including Beamish Museum, Teesside University, Newcastle University and Visit County Durham and through his own consultancy business.
As Chair, Stephen will lead the Board in providing independent oversight of the financial and academic performance and strategy of one of the region's largest further and higher education colleges. In addition to his role as Chair, Stephen also chairs the Finance and Resources Committee.鈥疕e is also the Governor responsible for Careers Education and Guidance.鈥�
